Biography
Mike Purcell has lived in the Mount Snow area full time since 1981. He was introduced to the area in the early 70’s with/by his father who was involved in New York broadcasting and, new at that time, ski reporting.
He started work in the hospitality/inn business, started teaching skiing, and entered the real estate field the following summer. Brokers licenses in both Vermont and New Hampshire were obtained in due time as well as the GRI designation. A number of years were spent working for land development companies requiring both project development/coordination and sales. Once the Purcells acquired their horse farm and had a child, travelling became impractical and local real estate business became the focus.
Mount Snow plays a large role in the success of area businesses and values placed on real estate in the immediate vicinity. Mike has been involved in ski instruction at Mount Snow, as well as ski and ski boot industry, since 1981. He is fully certified with the PSIA and presently coaches part time at the Mount Snow Training Center . He has been active in local volunteer fire departments, zoning boards, planning commissions, conservation commissions, and Rotary Club. Passions include skiing and ski racing, riding horses, and mountain biking. Presently he heads up a mountain biking club, The Hoot, Toot, & Whistle ATCC, a member of the Vermont Mountain Biking Association.
His wife Tami is a Realtor in the Brattleboro office and they have a daughter Giovana. Favorite activities for Mike and the family involve seasonal outdoor pursuits like hiking, mountainbiking, kayaking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, alpine & cross country skiing. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Mike won’t have the lights out for the bike or studded snow tires for the winter!
Mike has a wealth of perspectives he can use to evaluate and assist buyers and sellers in the wonderful area of southern Vermont he and his family call home.
